About Margi
Hi, I'm Margi McDaniel, Certified Nutrition Therapist, or ‘Nutritionista' to my friends and family. I love my work and want you to know who I am, as well as what I've done, so you can decide if we are a good fit.
I am fortunate to live and work in a small town in the mountains of Idaho, surrounded by rugged beauty. McCall has no movie theatre or concert hall, and living here requires a good imagination and ability to create your own fun. But it supplies some excellent ingredients: pristine lakes, rivers, mountains, ample snowfall… and playful friends!

My path to Certified Nutritionist was a long and winding road, with 25 years in food and hospitality. I cooked on fishing boats in Alaska, owned my own burger joint, Blondie's, on San Juan Island and a ski-in dinner yurt in Sun Valley, Idaho. This led to consulting, resort development and management. The 70- hour workweeks, lack of exercise, and high stress took their toll. More than once, I found myself looking for answers and comfort in the refrigerator! I was overweight and, according to my doctor, was suffering from adrenal exhaustion.
One Christmas, my 10-year old son greeted me with, "Santa spends more time in this house than you do!" What a gift for me. It provided an opportunity to evaluate my options and ask, " What can I do that is creative, helps others, supports my health, and allows time for my family?" The answer inspired me to obtain a degree as Master Nutrition Therapist, from the Nutrition Therapy Institute in Denver, CO.
Since graduating, I've worked in a wellness clinic, expanding my knowledge of clinical nutrition, diagnostic screening and the world of supplements. Lately, I am attracting more clients outside the local area, especially women wanting a program for weight loss, menopausal symptoms and fatigue. They know that nutritional support can make a huge difference in feeling better.
As women, we feel it's our job to nurture and support everyone else, at the expense of ourselves. If we can manage symptoms, we can keep going. Managing symptoms does not get to the root of the problem. A healthy, balanced life is a journey not a destination, much like a marriage. So I am looking forward to connecting with you...wherever you live.
I enjoy being the nutritionist for Exodus Women's Fitness Retreats, member of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals, American Association of Nutrition Consultants, and Westin A. Price Foundation. I am on the board of our local McCall Farmer's Market, The McCall-Donnelly Education Foundation and helped build the first community garden in town.
Surrounded by nature, loving friends and family, a rewarding profession, and thirst for knowledge… I am a lucky woman and excited to share this journey with you.
